![]() | Dr. Hu is a professor in the School of Chemical Engineering at Dalian University of Technology, China. He received his Bachelor degree from Zhejiang Institute of Technology in 1982, then entered into Dalian University of Technology (DUT) where he got a Master degree in 1985 and PhD. degree in 1990. Since 1985, he is working in DUT, and was promoted as a professor of Chemical Engineering in 1993. He has several times to stay in Universität Karlsruhe (TH) and TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as visiting scholar. Now he is the director of Institute of Coal Chemical Engineering of DUT. Editor of Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, Editorial Board member of Fuel Processing Technology, Journal of Fuel Chemistry, etc. His main interested researches are in coal and biomass conversion (including pyrolysis and direct liquefaction); preparation of porous materials (including carbon membranes, porous carbon, mesoporous zeolite) and their application. He has published more than 150 peer-review articles and more than 20 granted or applied patents. |

![]() | Prof. Jieshan Qiu is Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), China, and Dean of College of Chemical Engineering of BUCT. Prof. Qiu is an internationally-recognized research and thought leader in chemical engineering. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies for producing carbon materials from coal and coal-derived by-products such as coal tar pitch, and their applications in energy storage and conversion (solar cells, supercapacitor and batteries, etc.), catalysis and environment protection. He is the author of more than 670 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., Nature Commun., Nano Energy, ACS Nano, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Soc. Rev., J. Am. Chem. Soc., PNAS, etc., with a citation over 21800 times, and h-index 72, including a number of ESI highly cited papers (Web of Sci.). He has a strong record of innovation – over 90 China and International patents issued. He is currently the Vice President and Fellow of Chinese Society of Micro-Nano Technology, an Associate Editor of the international journal ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, and CIESC Journal (Hua Gong Xue Bao, in Chinese), and is on the advisory board of 22 high profile journals, including Chemical Engineering Science, Science China Materials, etc. He has served as the editor of the journal Carbon and the founding editor of the journal FlatChem, both published by Elsevier. He is a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in the Cross-Field category that aims to identify researchers with substantial influence across several fields during the last decade. |
